We're running Win2003 standard on a PE 2450. We have OpenArray Manager installed, and our current drive configuration is Raid5 on the three internal drives. The server is *not* hooked up to a Power Vault. When we open Array Manager, we do not see any Virtual Disks listed, all we see is the SCSI controller and Channel0. We need to change the Raid configuration from 5 to 0. On our other servers, we used the Array manager to do this, why is this not working on the 2450?
What other way can this be accomplished is Array Manager doesn't work?
Do you have the latest version of the Dell drivers installed? Win2003 does have drivers native to the Operating System, but they are not compatible with Array Manager.
FYI, these are the latest System Upgrades for the PowerEdge 2450 and the (assuming here) Perc 3/si running Win2003. Install in this order:
ESM Firmware, Multi System, A42 Filename: a42cust.exe (397 KB)
Note: Extract the files to a
DOS bootable floppy disk.
Boot the server to this floppy disk, and run
smflsh.exe.
The Perc driver and firmware come in 2 different download packages.
One is for
Update Package for Windows installation and has a prerequisite of version 2.6 being installed.
The other is for installation via bootable floppy for the firmware and hard drive for the driver and does not have this limitation.
Actually it is unusual that Win2003 would have installed on a version of perc firmware older then 2.7.1. What version of Perc firmware is currently installed?
