H710 Mini RAID 1 Recovery

Hi,

We have 2x480GB SSDs in RAID 1 managed by H710 Mini.

A backplane issue disconnected the drives and we saw '0 virtual drives...'.

Without realising the drives were disconnected, we tried recreating the virtual drive (I believe only background initialization was performed). Now when the drives are reconnected the system will not boot and I believe the drives need to undergo recovery. Booting into a DOS OS with DMDE (as a read-only recovery tool) shows drives have not been zeroed.

Please advise me any ideas to recover these data, there are lots of partitions (ESXi + several VMs) so normal 'recovery' will be challenging.

    Thank you for your reply.

    The message was on boot.

We have now noticed that the recreation performed a fast initialisation and that the first 8MB are zeroed. We are proceeding with recovering VMs with 3rd party software and rebuilding the hypervisor environment.

    Hello thanks for choosing Dell.

'A backplane issue disconnected the drives and we saw '0 virtual drives...'. -> Can we see the message for this in RAID controller BIOS?
And you could also tell us what VD status look like in RAID.
