PE R410 "Configuring Memory. Please wait ..." - nothing more
Hello everybody, I got a Problem with my R410 (BIOS 1.2.4). After starting the Server it is showing "Configuring memory. Please wait ...". After that the monitor immediatelly shuts down (standby) and the server is not going any further. I tried different Memory configurations - pulled DIMMs out and in at different positions. Sometimes - for no obvious reason - the Server booted normally. That was like one time out of 20. But then, with the same configuration, the Computer didn's start with same configuration after reboot. Any hints on that? I need this server up and running. Thanks, Thomas
In the meanwhile: with patience and luck I got the machine running once which enabled me to install a new BIOS (1.12.0). But now after the update, the starting Screen isnt showing anything. There is just no signal for the Monitor?! Any thoughts?
Check the ServerEventLog for possible Errormessages (Idrac must be activated/configured)
Try the „Minimum to POST“-configuration:
Risers
CPU1 (minimum for troubleshooting)
Heatsink for CPU1 for prevention of overheating
1 DIMM for CPU1
Power supply
Control panel
Motherboard
Power distribution board
If the server starts again, then step by step rebuild the components into the server to find the issue-part. When it still won’t start, the problem is most likely located on the Motherboard. Try different Dimms and CPUs, if given.
