PowerPath description

I have been looking at the description on the powerpath software and some are described as Powerpath Windows WGR and others as Powerpath Windows DEP this is also the same for Sun.

Can you advise me of the differences in these and how they are used?

I had responded with some feedback and links to wp's but apparently it needs to be approved first by a moderator.  Stay tuned...

I'd like to point you to a very good summary comparing PowerPath vs the Native MPIO solutions (there are separate sections for Windows and Solaris).  Better than I could summarize (I'd probably just be restating what is already documented).

There is also a very good lab comparison from 2011 done with PowerPath versus Windows native MPIO solution and backs up the advantages with numbers.  Even though the document is only 16 pages, if you only had time to review some of it, at a minimum read the "Why This Matters" content which summarizes each of the sections.

Let us know if after reading this you need further clarification.
