    Hello Eduard Krizan,

In previous versions you could not use IPMI to power on a PowerStore system. In newer versions of PowerStore software you can use IPMI to power on.  Here are some Key Details of note:

    • IPMI Tool: Utilize the IPMITool Utility to manage PowerStore nodes remotely.
    • Connection: Use the Serial-over-LAN (SOL) protocol for console access.
    • IP Addresses:
      • Node A: 128.221.1.252
      • Node B: 128.221.1.253
    • Command Example:
    • exe -I lanplus -C 3 -U console -P <system service tag> -H 128.221.1.252 sol activate
    • Prerequisites: Ensure the PowerStore is powered on and the correct password (Dell EMC Service Tag in all caps) is used.

    Hello,

it gives the same error message with ( PowerStoreT-LTS2026-4.3.1.0-2662695-retail.tgz.bin )

    ipmitool.exe -I lanplus -C 3 -U console -P <our tag> power on
Set Chassis Power Control to Up/On failed: Insufficient privilege level

Is the 4.3.1 too old ? Since which version should this work ?

It seems the IP of the IPMI is not possible to change as well. This is causing issues/limitations for the IMPI console use, since the same settings are used on each Dell Powe Store ( we use multiple 500T ).

    Kind regards

    Eduard.

    Hello Eduard Krizan,

It is best to open a support case so that we can pull some logs and run some commands to see what is going on.

@DELL-Sam L I guess you mean, you can only reboot Node via IPMItool with a laptop connected on the Serial. Not remotely, right?

    Hello Sebastien.TRICHARD,

If a PowerStore system is rebooted remotely, it can lead to connectivity issues and alerts. This is why it is recommended that you reboot the system onsite and not remote.
