Recently installed dlt 7000 in Poweredge 2300, after detecting drive, drive shows up as "QEANTEM"

All u's are now e's and obviously the device is not working, adaptec scsi drivers are listed and appear to be functioning, on bootup "QUANTUM DLT 7000" is found with correct spelling w/ ID 6.

I'm thinking a scsi problem but would greatly appreciate help from someone who has seen this.
