Go to SolutionBIOS Update Precision 5820 - fails to boot
Hi all sure its somewhere in the forum but could not locate so sorry if I missed it...
Done a recent BIOS update via the Dell Comand Upadate and this all seemed to go well with the system rebooting itself and the firmware update then tiked through did not see it fail or where the % got to but it progressed for a while.. then a reboot at the end (presumed) has resulted in blank screens (have 3 connected) neither pick up a signal and left this overnight for 2 nights no completion or improvement..
Full power off (the 10+ second hold causes simple reboot)...
There must be an issue or simple solution.. any help and guidance most welcome..

What's the resolution of the screens ? I think that there are issues if a 4k screen is plugged so...

thx for this. Dell Cares picked up too and advised this. not sure it worked but did it with no screen activity and then had to do a full power flush and removed all peripherals attached and one monitor and all sorted. thx.

no 4k screens attached as above now sorted thanks to Boot Recovery and Power flush and restart with no monitors and peripherals.. thx.

If your machine came with BIOS Recovery BR3, you can configure your system firmware as below. The BIOS recovery will automatically recover the BIOS without your intervention if something happens during the computer starting up.
- Restart the computer.
- Press the F2 key on the keyboard several times until the computer enters the BIOS setup.
- Look for the group Maintenance and the page BIOS Recovery in the BIOS setup.
- Identify the BIOS Recovery from hard drive field which should be enabled. (If it is not enabled, set it to enabled.)
- Change the BIOS Auto-Recovery field from the default which is disabled to enabled.
- Identify the Always perform Integrity check field and change from the default which is disabled to enabled.
- Save changes and reboot the machine.

all resolved.. thx to all including Dell-Cares.. boot recovery undertaken with no screen activity so not sure if it worked!! and then a full power flush and restart with only one monitor and no peripherals (USB external drive etc.)
