Go to SolutionPrecision T1500 not powering on when button is pressed
The power supply works fine, tried the paper clip test. there's no mobo light, button cords seem fine. there have been mice into it recently, had to clean that. its been off for a few days bc of a power outage, which right as the power shut off, I shut off the surge cord before it got the chance to turn on again, or surge. I never got the time to game simce it went off, so I never bothered to turn it back on. so whats the issue? the mobo looks fine to me. any tests? The fan on the very back (not power supply fan) wiggles a little when I press the button sometimes. The light is solid green, and the rear usb ports still charge my devices

Besides the battery, did you try any of the other suggestions I gave on 9/8 in your other thread you started in the Optiplex forum?

Hey, sorry I've been busy lately. I unplugged everything and left the gpu in the slot unplugged. The gpu caught fire bc I thin there was mouse pee on it. And now when I try to power on, with the gpu completely out of course, it beeps 6 times

Update: the power supply smells a little burnt, but so does the rear fan, which works, and it's all powering on with the beeps but not displaying anything on the monitor. I have the dvi plugged into the back port instead of the gpu which is of course . Ram seems fine as well,power supply has no visible damage, gonna look under the Mobo

The mice get in through the card slots in the back, the tower is on the floor. And I figure I could see if there's any damage by looking at the MB, since the gpu literally caught fire. I tried unplugging all ram sticks, and the fan spun very very fast. I just unplugged the ram one by one and no luck.

Precision T1500 Owner's Manual
According to the owner's manual on pg. 6:
I know that's not much help. Well, see what it says if it were 1 or 3 beeps? The solution they give, "Contact Dell."
Since their solution for 6 beeps is also "Contact Dell," I think you may need to replace the MB.
How did mice get into the computer, is the side panel off?
It's good that the RAM and the PSU looks fine, but remember, one can't tell just by looking at it if it's good or not.
You could try each stick of RAM by itself, and see if it'll boot after each one, but I think it would just be a mute point.

Thank you so much for your help, that's exactly what I had in mind. I found a better gpu anyway. I'll try that. Too bad that card had to burn up, I'm sure I can sell it for parts for like fifty bucks. But I did find a precision t1500 on bids for like fifty or so. It also has sd card slots on it so hey, who knows

Sorry to hear about the mice them little ____.
It sounds like they really did a number on your PC.
Up to you if you think it's worth it - You could try a different GPU card. Too bad you don't happen to have another one laying around. If it didn't work, it would point more toward the MB needing replacement. Even if something doesn't look burnt, who know how hot some of the components got.
With the T1500 going back to 2010, who knows, you might consider something newer; all depending on your budget.
T1500 MB's aren't too cheap, but could less than the cost of a newer Precision.
