I have a general question about if the RAID controller in the Precision 7780 mobile workstation is hardware or software. Any help is appreciated. Thank you,
Seeing your question being unsolved for a few days, am going to take a stab at it.
I think your device is capable of both, hardware and software RAID.
From F12, one time boot menu, select Device Configurations to access hardware controller storage setup.
For software RAID from operating system such as Windows, use Disk Management or Storage Space to manage your storage setup. You can also create RAID volume using Intel RST Application, Intel Rapid Storage Technology helps configure RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 levels and enhances the performance and reliability of Windows-based systems with storage devices.
