5300N problems...
I have 8 5300N's and am having a few problems with them.
The first is very annoying, and has happened on 4 of the 8 printers, from 8 different applications on about a dozen computers.
They are all printing via TCP/IP and in the middle of a print job, they will begin printing "IB", and all subsequent jobs print "IB" until I power cycle the printer. This happens in Word, Excel, Acrobat, our Accounting package, Litigation packages and Outlook. It has happened on 1/2 of the printers we have, and we've only had them in production for 3 weeks.
Our other issues is autocontinue of paper. We have 4 drawers on each printer. Trays 1 and 2 are bond paper, 3 is draft paper, and 4 is legal. We want the printer to automatically pull bond from tray 2 when tray 1 is empty. We moved from HP 5si's with 2000 sheet paper drawers, and only being able to print 500 sheets before a re-fill is killing us.

If not, when you connect printer locally and print from the different applications, does it still print "IB"?
If not, then you should check your network, if any router is messing with the network packets.
Regarding the second problem.
Dell doesn't sell 2000 sheet feeder, so I guess you will need to configure your trays.
Please, go to PAPER MENU and set the PAPER TYPE the trays 1 and to to BOND paper, tray 3 to PLAIN paper and tray 4 to PLAIN as well.
I take it that the standard paper size is Letter, and Legal is also another paper size.
With the configuration above when you want to print on Bond paper, pleae choose in the print properties in your application (Word, e.g.) the paper type as Bond. Then it will take the paper first form the tray 1, and then from the tray 2 if tray 1 is empty.
If you want to print on draft paper - select paper TYPE as Plain.
If you want to print on Legal size paper - select the paper SIZE as Legal. It will take the paper only from the 4th tray.
I hope it helps
