A920 Printer will not scan

I have a Dell A920 all-in-one printer which was previously used with WindowsXP.  I recently bought a new computer which runs Windows Vista.  I connected the old printer to the new computer and can print directly from the computer, but when I try to copy or scan, I cannot do it.  On WindowsXP, there was a drop down menu that included "Open Dell All-in-one Center".  However, I cannot find this while running Windows Vista.  The buttons on the top of the printer do not work either.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

    twinki,

You will need to download and install the Vista printer driver and application for your A920.  Check this link for the entire application suite:

    twinki,

Here are the download and installation instructions:

    ********************
    Download

1.Click Download Now, to download the file.
2.When the File Download window appears, click Save (Windows XP
users will click Save) this program to disk and click OK. The Save In:
    window appears.
3.From the Save In: field, click the down arrow then click to
select Desktop and click Save. The file will download to your desktop.
4.If the Download Complete window appears, click Close. The file
    icon appears on your desktop.

    Install

1.Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R153716.exe.
2.The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or
unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R153716. Write down this path so the executable (I.e.
Setup.exe) file can be found later.
    3.The Self-Extractor window appears.
    4.Click OK.
5.After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor
window is still open, close it.
6.Click the Start button and then click Run.
7.Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R153716 in the Open textbox and then click OK.
    8.Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
    ********************

Most of the installation instructions for Dell drivers can be found on the same page as the download itself.

I have it installed on my desktop.  When I click on it, a whole list of stuff comes up, and I have no idea what any of it means.  Now what???  BTW: Thanks for your help.

    twinki,

If you have run it and let it expand to the default folder, navigate to the C:\DELL\drivers\R153716\Fax folder and double click on the " setup.exe" file in that folder.

It doesn't do anything when I double click on it.  Anyway, I've somehow messed things up to the point where I can't print  anything at all.  It says I have no communication between the printer and the computer, even though I checked all the connections, and everything is hooked up.  I give up!!

I have the same problem as Twinki. After I bought a new laptop with Vista, my A920 will print but not scan, even using the button on top of the scanner. Again, the All-in-One Center is simply not there. I have tried the download that Big Brother suggested, but it doesn't seem to do anything but add a folder full of foreign languages for use with the fax function. No All-in-One Center interface and nothing that suggests that it has done anything to get the scanner function back in play. Help!

Yes!!  That is exactly what came up on mine!!  Thank goodness, I am not the only one who can't figure this out!  If you figure it out, please let me know, and I will do the same, okay?  Thanks!
