I have a Dell V515W all in one printer and my wifi light just went from solid green to solid orange. There is no wireless network name shown and there is no signal strength. How can I fix this?
Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any)
Restart the computer and connect.
Unplug the printer from the wall, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Let the printer process.
In addition to what Rick has suggested, you may also refer the topic “Networking” from this link and check what colors of the Wi-Fi indicator light mean: http://bit.ly/WijWtJ
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back but I tried all of that and the light is still solid orange. I was able to get the printer to hook up using the cable and everything works fine. However, I would love to get the wireless going again. Is there anyway to reset the entire thing, or is there anyway to get the printer to find or be found by just changing settings.
With the computer online, insert the Dell Printer disk, choose new installation, network and follow the instructions. It should prompt for your network SSID and password. When you disconnect the printer from the computer, the WiFi light should turn green within a minute.
Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.
I have the same printer.. All in one v515w.... I don't want wireless.... I don't have a router either...I don't like wireless devices.. I'm using USB..
I've uninstalled and installed it over and over......
In properties... under appearance mode ... I selected "never show printing status window or printivity tips...." because in the past... that had solve the problem..
the USB is working and I bought a new printer cable besides... windows 7....XPS 8300 64 bit OS
The main problem is with IE11. It is causing this problem. Removing IE11, reverts your system back to IE10 and the problem goes away.
The other option is to turn off the balloon tips for the printer.
Start, control panel, devices and printer, your printer, printing preferences, advanced, more options. Tell it to never show. The problem with this setting is you cannot tell if you're low on ink, printer jams, Etc.

rcanfield,
Let's try the simple solution first...
