HP 3320 printer problems

I was able to install the driver and software for my HP 3320 printer on my Vista operating system using the USB port.  When I try to print something it looks like it is going to print but nothing prints.  When I look in the printer file there is nothing there to print.  What am I doing wrong?

    How did you perform the installation?  The proper procedure is to run the printer's installation program first and ONLY when the install program tells you then physically connect the printer to the PC.  If you connect the printer first, in most cases either the install will fail or incorrect drivers will be installed.  However, on some older printers there are "basic function" drivers preinstalled and in those cases all you should have to do is connect the unit and Vista will detect the unit and "install" it. 
     
    Also check the Control Panel/Printer and make sure the HP is set as the default print device.  And RIGHT click on the HP printer icon the LEFT click on Properties.  Click the "Print Test Page" button and see if you get a printout.  If you do, the printer is considered correctly installed.

    I unistalled the HP3320 driver and installed the HP3500 driver as suggested by HP.com and now it works.  My computer thinks I have a HP3500 installed but I'm getting printing. I'm happy.
