Hi there. I just got a new 962 AIO printer. I have questions about setting up the faxing capabilities.
My cable modem is plugged into the phone jack on one end, and the CPU on the other. Therefore, I can't plug my fax machine into my phone jack. Is there another way to set it up? I need to be able to receive faxes, and to send faxes--NOT just through my computer.
I was thinking that maybe I need to get a new phone number? Can I instead plug the fax into the computer, since the cable modem is also plugged in?
Any help is appreciated. I am not at ALL a technophile. Heck, I was pleased that I figured out how to set it up to PRINT! :smileytongue: Thanks again! I appreciate the help!
You could buy one of the phone adapters that plug into wall jack and has 2 outlets on the other side, so you can plug the fax into one and the modem into the other.
I got another phone number with a distictive ring that I have my fax programmed for. It uses the same phone line, but rings differently. Only costs a $1 or $2 per month.
Yup, the phone company should be able to answer your questions. I asked for the distinctive ring option for my fax, with a different phone number. They obliged.
