Printer failure
I loaned my Dell computer out and when I got it back the printer did not work. I downloaded a new driver for my PhotoPrinter 720 and when I tryto print I get the message that the local spooler is not running. When I try to do something about that I get the message that there are no slots available for the printer. The printer is plugged into the same slot as previously so I do not understand what to do now. Thanks. John McClenon

John McClenon,
Without knowing what the other person did with your computer, my best suggestion is to reinstall the computer using the instructions below.
First, let's make sure your computer has the latest Windows Updates, especially .net framework, needed to run many applications and the latest Java.
Disconnect your printer. Download and run this patch to completely remove the printer from your computer. Run the patch, a MUST on Vista computers, until it prompts you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer.
Download the proper drivers.
XP Drivers
Vista 32-bit Drivers
Vista 64-bit Drivers
All other drivers
Install the proper drivers. You'll be prompted when to connect your printer(powered on)
Let me know what happens.
Rick
