printer software

Hello, I have a red all-in-one Dell printer, and I ran it with my old DELL laptop (using Vista) just fine.  Now i have a new DELL laptop and windows 7.    I need the software to the printer so I can scan, print pictures in correct sizes, etc.  Can someone tell me where to find the software (or whatever it is I need) on dell.com?  Thank you!  JS     p.s. my dell printer is: Dell verson 505 of the red all-in-one.

    JJCHEF,

Windows 7 came installed on your new Dell Laptop?

Do you have the printer disk?

What virus program and firewall are you using?

    JJCHEF,

Printer wired or wireless? If wireless, the printer was connected to your network before?

Hello Rick, I should have been more specific.  I do not have the disk, that's why I need to download it from DELL.  That type of printer is wireless,  yes.  Yes, it was connected to my network- but the problem here isn't that it's not working, it''s that I need the printer software to enable use of the scanner and printer properties from my desktop.   Yes, Windows 7 came installed on this computer.  I am using the McAfee virusware that came on the computer, and as far as I know the firewall is whatever DELL set up on the computer before they sent it to me.  Thanks JS

Ok I found what i needed by putting in the printer info tag on dell. however at the end of installation of the dell imaging box, i got an error.  then i got another error or two when i tried to use the imaging box to scan...well actually it wouldn't scan and froze.   so would someone just tell me if the problem is windows 7 and i will just buy another printer that will work with windows 7?  that would save me a lot of time and trouble.

    JJCHEF,

If there is a WiFi light on the printer, does it show connected?

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue.

Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected.

Start, control panel, device manager, programs and features, Dell V505 Printer, uninstall.

    Restart your computer.

Go to the Dell V505 & V505w All-In-One (PRODUCT) RED™ Printer owners thread (W7) and download the drivers that match your operating system, 32-bit or 64-bit?

    Install the drivers.

If the printer is showing it's connected, install the drivers, choose aditional computer and follow the instructions.

Try reading, Allow a printer past McAfee

If the printer is NOT showing connected, I recomment using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11. I wpould make a new SSID to make connecting easier.

Once the router is corrected then...

Install the drivers, choose new installation, network and follow the instructions. It will prompt for your network and password. Once the printer is connected, then follow the rest of the instructions.

Remember, Allow a printer past McAfee
