I bought a Dell Inspiron E1505 in late December 2006. I was told that I would receive an upgrade to my MS Office 2003 software to MS Office 2007 in 6 to 12 weeks. I registered the product and have checked back regularly at the assigned website. The site always says that the product is on order. It is now over 12 weeks with no Office 2007. I have called Dell 6 times with no success only the run around. I have spent many minutes on hold.
Dell keeps telling me that it is Microsofts responsibility and Microsoft says that paperwork and the upgrade routine are not right. The offer runs out at the end of this week. Please help me Dell. I bought the computer from you based on the special offers you made.
This is a user's forum. Aside from the moderators, no one from Dell reads this forum, so don't expect anyone here to be able to help you with this problem.
Have you tried contacting Dell Customer Support, instead of Tech Support?
so you have a website that shows that it is on order? is this a dell site or a microsoft site?
you need to contact that vendor, I'd say. Take a screen shot of that info also. Who knows when they will up and delete it or make that info no longer accessable to you.
Did you purchase this system on Dell credit? if not contact your credit card company/bank and tell them that all the materials were not sent and you are disatisfied with your purchase. False advertising.
You only have a case if you have the info that states you were supposed to get an upgrade otherwise you might as well grin and bear it.
Dell says it is Microsoft. However the site is identified as a "moduslink". I certainly will not grin. I wish Dell would help. I bought the computer from them with a stated benefit of receiving an upgrade to Office.
it looks like people a few are starting to get cds fro vista/office/etc from Moduslink but it is a long post and a lot of unhappy people like yourself.
I also found another link going on about the Vista upgrades mainly not shipping.
So it looks like dell is out of the picture it is mainly moduslink has to send it or microsoft has to. And with Vista and Office 2007 coming out around the same time the cd press factory is probably working overtime.
I purchased a Dell in November, went thru the same process you did. I received the Vista upgrade kit in March, it went pretty well. Now it is almost May and had not heard about Office 2007.
That is when I discovered that I had given them the COA for Windows XP instead of Office 2003. After trying to solve the problem thru email, I finally got a number and called them. Explained the COA mixup, the person said I should have been notified that the numbers were wrong but I was not. So I submitted a new order over the phone, person told me the old order would just be tossed since it was wrong.
The number I called is 1-801-431-1504. Press 1 for English, then 5 at the next prompt, then 8 and wait for a person.
