I have windows XP with IE 8 and am trying to install Google Chrome. However, I get the error "Application cannot be started. Contact the application vendor." I have tried posting a message over at the Google forum but you need an account and user name. I opened an account but was not given an opportunity to get a user name, so I'm stuck. Can someone help with the install of Chrome or with getting a user name from Google so I post over at their Chrome forum??
We have nothing to do with Google or Chrome. My suggestion would be to either uninstall Chrome, restart the PC and try again or use the System Restore function and restore the PC back to a date PRIOR to attempting to install Chrome and then try again.

support.google.com/.../answer.py Search all the Help pages at Chrome site. That is better than the forum. Chrome starts automatically after installation. Make sure you are running XP sp2 or higher, have 100MB hard drive space available. support.google.com/.../answer.py
