Well The Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition is part of the OS. If you have ordered that you should have in you start folder somwhere Media Center Icon.
But since you are asking about installing it or not then I think you are talking about the DELL Media Experience (DMX) DMX just a program that groups all your multimedia stuff together the same way Microsoft's Media Center. The DMX is missing the TV & Radio feature.
DELL did a great job with DMX it looks fantastic. But if you want the real stuff you need the Windows XP Media Center Edition. I saw the 2004 edition it looks absolutely fantastic and also works real nice providing a true Multimedia Experience with TV & Radio feature let's you record stuff from TV has a TV guide, I think only available in US, etc. etc. But dude if you do not have TV tuner card do not bother, just install the DMX and enjoy it.
yes, I am asking about DMX. I have windows XP with the microsoft plus and media center combo. They also sent me a free remote for DMX so I kinda hate to get rid of it, but I keep hearing about all the problems with it. I just recieved my system this am and I am just starting tweaking it. Guess I will see how it goes.

Windows XP media Center is not part of the os. It IS an os.
Sounds like you have the dell media experience though. What problems are you talking about? It's just for capturing video mainly, will support most cable and satellite feeds. If you want something really cool though, you could get the new xp media center 2005 when it's released. I've seen it in action and it's really really cool. Multiple tuner cards and extender boxes and completely seamless with the os.
