Don't know if this will help, but it's worth a try. Re-register the dll file.

Start, Run, then type

regsvr32

Click OK

You'll just need to know where the mssp3es.dll file resides to fill in the path.

Some of the other errors that come when I desperately try to detect repair or repair install with the use of office 2003 CD: error 1919, Error configuarattion ODBC data source. MS Access Database error 6: component not found in the registry. verify that the file exists and that you can access it. GOD knows what it means. How do I know if I can access? What is this file?

I'll let you know if There was or not a success. I think that nobody knows how to overcome this fluke.Necham

Be sure to include the double quotes. (You can just copy the above and paste it into the Run line.)

You'll receive a message advising if the dll was registered.

I went run, then, placed the path you gave me and OK.

I received the following message :

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\PROOF\mssp3es.dll"  was loaded but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file can not be regitered.

I hve NOOO idea what it means, and how can it not be regitered if it is on my PC. Could it be because when Dell installed it initially they placed some code? Is there any thing to your knowledge that can counteract a spelling engine? Any additional suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

1)LAst week, I did completely unistall office 2003 and reinstalled, but there is always an element or two that can not be installed. error 1311. source file not found E:ZF561407.CAB  and retry does not help, and othertimes the error 1919, error configuration ODBC data source MS Access Database error 6: component not found in the registry. verify that it exist and that you can access it.

WHAT I BELIEVE is that my Office 2003 CD is from 3 years ago and does NOT have on it the recent Sp2 or SP3 and that blocks the proper installation. Even the hotfix for spanish spelling engine from Microsoft did NOT work!!

2) 

I am NOT sure how to edit the registry. I went to run, regedit, hkey_macine\software\microsft\windows\current version\setup,  right clicked installation source entry , modify, and Then, my heart beat started to go crazy. so I cancelled doing it. I know the path

for i386 is C:\Windows\system32\spool\xpsep\i386 , BUT I think I figured out the problem!?!? It is probably because of office 2003 being installed by dell with a code OR the Cd is missing the renovations of SP2 and SP3. Maybe I should remove the sp3. One time I removed the SP3 and reinstalled sp3 and it stopped giving messages of OBDC

I know I am PC STUPIDDDDD but I can follow instructions.

Please give me all suggestions possible.

In Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Microsoft Office 2003, then click Uninstall. When that is finished, got to Start, Run, type regedit and click OK.

Find the following keys, right click, then delete (Please be aware that if you delete any other key, your PC may not start)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office

Restart your PC, then reinstall Office from your CD. When Office is finished, you can update it to SP3.

Just be careful. You may want to make a backup of your registry first. To do this, right click the Computer entry at the top of the registry list and choose Export. Give this a file name.

Again thank you for your time. I did the Add remove uninstall of ALL office 2003.

I did remove the 2 Hkey keys. did a backup of registry.

reinstalled office from cd.

again received the error 1919 configuring ODBC MS access database. did rety . did not help!. so I did ignore. It said it was succesfully installed. I remember from the past that when I downloaded SP3 the ODBC file came back into the registry. I am going to download the SP3 as soon as I get few hours of sleep, and then will write you.

Well, I tried my initial problem of mssp3es.dll and still the Spanish Spelling Engine does NOT work.

I'll let you know tomorrow the results. I have to work tomorrow, and then come back to this lovely PC. MIND YOU that ALL other langyages word features work PERFECTLY and the Spanish Thsaurus and translate tools work as well.

I had just when that happened some problems with JAVA updates. Could that be a problem? It has a language tool in it. Could I try to remove JAVA? and how do I reinstall it?

I am a Spanish professor and I need this stupid engine of mssp3es.dll.

Do you suggest getting Microsoft tech support for pay, or Dell on Call support for pay. I am not sure any of them is aware how to solve this Spanish Spelling Engine.

I uninstalled through add remove. I delted the 2 HKEY keys you told me. The first time I did NOT restarted the PC before installing office 2003, and it failed to work.

The second time after removing the 2 keys, I restarted, then installed, and installed sp3 and I am happy to report that the mssp3es.dll DOES WORK! I can checkspell in Spanish!

I still had during installation the "error 1919 error configuration OBDC data source, error 6: component not found in the regisry, verify that the file MS Access Database exists and that you can access it." Is this OBDC error could be harmful? Also I get upon shutting off I get a message "Instruction at 0X74736C57 referenced memory at 0X5C2C3B7C, The memory could not be read" Could that be harmful or just meningless?

I am very graetful to you for your help.
