The Support Center has a long history here of being a pain in the neck.   One of those "good intentions gone awry" things - a huge complicated program to do what's mostly pretty simple to do yourself, or with a few much smaller, more reliable free utilities.

There's no actual troubleshooting guide for the software itself .  The only  way I know of to deal with it when it misbehaves is to uninstall it from Add/Remove, then download and install it again - you can find it on your Drivers page under Applications HERE.   Or leave it uninstalled - you probably won't miss it at all, and in fact your system performance might improve since it won't be running in the background all the time.
