Windows Refresh have to install Microsoft Office 2013 - licence failed.
Hi, I have had to do a windows refresh and the result is that my programs have gone. I know there is meant to be a folder which says what programs have been removed but I cannot see this on my desktop. I have therefore tried to reinstall Office.
When I purchased my dell XPS 27 all-in-one I was given a card with the product key and I had to download from office.com/get office. I have tried to do this again and it get stuck in a look whereby the code is not accepted. I have contacted Microsoft who have confirmed the product key is a volume licence code for Dell and they cannot help and I should contact Dell. As Dell is closed in the UK I cant contact anyone until Monday. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of how I can resolve today?
What version of Office came on the computer? Be sure to get the same version. The product key must be the one for MS Office, not windows. You should not have a volume license for Office since you downloaded it from the Office download site. You would not have been able to download it in the first place if it was an OEM volume license.
Sorry, misread the post. It shouldn't matter how you got the software, the code should work. Usually, if a software had been previously installed, you would need to send a request to MS (during the installation) to confirm the ownership and get an activation code back from MS.
I tried the site as suggested, spent 45 mins on live chat to Microsoft and in the end decided just easier to buy again! Went for 365 this time so I can download again and Microsoft have record of it.
