Maybe somebody can shed some light on this issue...
I have an out-of-warranty 3200MP projector, with less than 1,000 hours on the lamp (first lamp as well).
Everything was working fine until one day (projector was not abused in any way, it has always been handled like if it was made out of galss) it was plugged in for a presentation, and after the warm up countdown, the projector would shut off, and the LAMP LED would be orange... after a few seconds it would disappear, adn i 'd be able to turn it back on, and same thing, after a few seconds of the warm up countdown it would shut off. Same thing happens if i unplug it, and plug it back in, or if i have a fan (in an air conditioned room) aimed at it.
I figure i'd experiment changing the lamp, and it ended up working fine without any problems...
My guess is that when the people who used it, did not wait for it to cool down before putting it back in its case, therefore making the lamp unstable and failing at working temperature... thats just my guess...
So even though it was an "expensive" fix, so far so good.
