Hello,
I'm currently searching a solution to run a partition mirroring between two servers (2x Windows Server 2003 R2, Raid 5) with the Autostart software. I thing have installed and configured the Autostart Software 5.2 as it is described in the Autostart Administration Guide.
When I try to generate a new Data Source the message "Mirror driver not active, reboot required" appears in the Status bar. The source node, the destination node and both partition are shown automatically in the Autostart Console window.
No services or applications are running on the partition. It's nearly empty and the size to be mirrored is 60GB.
How can I solve this problem? Does someone knows the problem and can help.

Hello Anuj Mediratta,
I'm sorry, but any of these services are running (EMC Autostart Agent, EMC Autostart Backbone, EMC Mirror Service (LgtoMirror.exe), EMC Transport Service).

Have you checked all the AutoStart services?
There is a service for mirroring that seems not running when you are trying to create the mirrored data source.723

It was a surprise for me as wellbut I'm glad to hear it seems to be a valid workaround. I'm also pretty sure that only Windows 2003 R2 systems are affected, so hopefully we should get a patch soon that will take care of this.

when you delete the current data Source
and then you want to create it again，
the problem will appears。

Thorsten,
Please note KB esg95908. This has to do with interoperability of the Windows Indexing Service. As Tomislav has pointed out, changing the drive letter works because it resets the Windows Indexing Service.

If that's all it is, is should be ok to just restart the indexing service from the service management console, or am I mistaking?
