adding additional hard drive

Hi all, i currently have 2 western digitial 40g harddrives. today i purchased a western digital 160g hard drive. i unplugged the secondary drive and hooked the 160 up in its place, however when i go to my computer it doesnt show the 2nd harddrive like it did with the other one i had hooked up. but it does show up in  device manager..... i cant send any files to the new drive because it doesnt show it anywhere..... not sure what to do from here, thought they were plug and play hard drives. btw my os is on my c drive, which is untouched in all this... thanks in advance for any help

Did you set the hard drive's jumpers to 'cable select'?

After installing the drive, did you enter the setup and check that the hard drive is set to Auto [on]?
