Cd-Dvd unit problem
Hello, I have an optiplex 755 with a tsst corp cdrwdvd tsl462d unit with the following problem
The unit can read my cds and dvds but it can not burn them, I know it cannot burn dvds but it should burn cd´s and cdrw's.
Know, I manage to burn one cdrw but after this, the unit just wont burn cds. I have tried various burnning softwares but nothing happens, they all send message errors, even the embebed xp burning software this happens whether I'm trying to burn just data or make vcd's
The only info i can give is that the last time it worked I burnt a vcd over a cdrw using cucusoft software, form there I´m getting this specific message error:
'CStarBurn_ScsiTransportASPI::ExecuteCDB(): Command failed'
I also reinstall the dirver for the unit but it just does not work for burning

First thanx for the post. i tried all the methods but i get the same error so I still can not burn cds. By the way I´m transcribing the whole message error I'm getting cause I do not post it complete above
VideoCDEx failed, exception 8, status 31, text 'CStarBurn_ScsiTransportASPI::ExecuteCDB(): Command failed'

Message Edited by nickacb on 02-22-2008 04:58 PMWell as I said, my unit refuses to burn any cd, and the message error I copied is the more specfic, for instance, when i try to burn a data cd with the software embebed in XP, i get a message saying the cd is not working or is defected, but I know it's not cuase I can burn them in other pc's and sometimes are new. Maybe some codecs I installed or something, and to answer your questions:

3.- Don´t really understand, I have roxio installed thus not used very often, the cucusoft software to burn vcd's, wmp, vcdeasy.

- With Windows running, insert a floppy disk in the drive. Open My Computer, right click the floppy disk drive and select Format. In the dialog box that follows, check the radio button to make the diskette bootable. Windows will copy the necessary system files.

Please take a look at this article for some troubleshooting ideas. It may be worth trying to delete the upper and lower filters, as described in this article.
