CD/DVD Drives Disable

I am having an issue where I have multiple Dell PC's on my network (different models of E series) that are disabling the CD/DVD drive.  The computer sees the drive and it is simple enough to walk the end user through re-enabling it, not sure why this is happening though.  We have a policy set it place through KACE to disable USB drives, I don't think that is the issue though.  All the computers are running Windows 7 x64 SP1.  The CD/DVD drives are not USB.

Has anyone else come across this before?

    Hi Nxc2345,

How do you re-enable the drive?

I can re-enable them by going into Device Manager and right clicking on them and going to enable.

I'm not that familiar with KACE, but how do you know it's not the culprit? Would it be worth turning off policy enforcement and seeing if that fixes the problem?

The KACE agent is installed on all the machines (Dell product) in the environment and not all seem to have this issue.
