Easiest and cheapest way is to connect the old hard disk up to an IDE channel on the new machine.
Depending on the new machine you may have to temporarily remove an IDE cable to your optical drives sd not all new machines have two IDE channels.
Set the jumper(s) on the rear of the drive to cable select.
Details of both machines i.e model & series would help.
Then simply copy the data across. You can only copy data files and such . You cannot simply copy most programs to the new machine from the old. They need to be installed on the new machine. Very simple basic programs may copy across.
