Dell SSD not detected by computer.
I recently purchased and installed a dell 256 gb ata ssd.
Upon being installed in my pc (desktop) my computer will not detect it. either in hard drives or device manager. A friend and I checked multiple times that it was installed correctly, sata cables plugged in etc. and Nothing. I'd like to be able to use this if anyone has suggestions for getting my pc to detect it.
Running windows 10.
SSD: Manufacturer Part# : SNP2F5G2/256G
Dell Part# : A9137815
attempted to copy/paste link to specific harddrive below but unsure if it worked.

Hi,
Follow Lijo Joshi's suggestion. Hope it will help you. After going through it, if you face the same issue again, reinstall the operating system in your computer.
Hope now your isssue will get solved.

HI ,
i have followed this step as i have similar problem. However it seems that my m.2 is not shown in the device manager.
I am currently using a Dell Vostro 5471 and i recently purchased a Corsair MP510 m.2 ssd. i does not show in my bios and i am not sure what is wrong.
Pretty standard to have to format the drive to be able to use it, but you have to be able to see it to format it. My computer won't show the new SSD in Disk Management so I'm unable to format. This seems to be a pretty prevalent issue with Dell owners.

I am having the same issue. I wanted to upgrade my HD in my Dell Inspiron 15 with a Intel SSD. However the BIOS on the Dell laptop says the SSD has 0 bytes. The SSD works fine in my tower computer (non Dell), and I did format the SSD and create a partition. But still it says 0 Bytes in BIOS. When I try a fresh load of windows 10, it fails due to 0 bytes on the SSD. The Dell laptop works on the original HD, it just is slow.
follow this steps
- Enter the BIOS by pressing F2 multiple times while the Dell Logo is shown.
- Navigate to Boot Sequence and set Boot List Option to UEFI.
- Navigate to SATA Operation and choose AHCI.
- In Advanced Boot Option you click on Enable Legacy Option ROMs.
- Set Secure Boot to Disable
save & exit then try

Thanks for the info, however, it did not help. The Intel SSD still says 0 gb available in The Dell BIOS.
I checked the SSD on another PC again and it shows good with a 1.5 Tb partition.
