DVD Problem

Hey I recently purchased a game that used PC DVD-ROM. The CWRW/DVD drive CRX330E fails to recognize any data on the disc once I put it into the drive. I recognizes that it is in there but when i try to expand and autorun it to instal it does not work. any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Gth,

At times we have traced issues with installs to Sonic`s DLA program. If per chance you have the software, consider disabling it for now and see if it works.
Click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 13-0, article 12.

    Happy New Year !

    Hi GTH,

Have you tried installing the program in Safe Mode?

Ok, now I have the program installed... but it requires that the dvd be in the drive for it to work... now the disc is in the drive but its acting like its no longer there. (even though under My Computer it recognizes the disc is there) any solutions? thanks

    Hi GTH,

Well since the drive allowed you to install the software from Safe Mode, one would assume the drive is fine and the issue is software related.
I recall another Member mention he had recently updated one of his spyware programs and it was blocking access to his drive.
Do you recall any recent update?
This may be trail & error, some people like using "msconfig" to stop programs from launching, or disable them one at a time.
If it was mine, I would disconnect the system from the internet, then start disabling my antivirus, firewall, spyware and etc down the line.

    Happy New Year !
