format hard drive

I have a dimension 2400, that I would like to format the hard drive, to solve many system problems, most notable that I am un able to install windows service pack 2.  I have read many post but them of them work, I have tried ctrl F11, as well as trying to make a boot disk, but I have no floppy drive.  Any ideas?

In the future, by using the Advanced Forum Search on the bottom of this page, you can quite easily find the answer to this often asked question.

Your computer likely shipped prior to CTRL F11 being installed, 7/15/04.

Download SP2 from here, save it to a folder of choice.

Unplug from the internet and then shut down any anti virus and firewall software you have running, and then run the SP2 installer package from that folder you saved it to.
