Hard drive grey connector cable broken!

Heya guys,

I was trying to take out my hard drive grey cable the one that says HD 1 from my hard drive and well it kinda broke off and it came loose from the grey sheet of wires. You know the one im talking about. I dont know now how to fix it or take it off. ITs not the p8 one with the coloured wires in it, its the other one.

Is there somewhere i can take to fix it, or can i fix it myself. At the moment i just unhooked zip drive and made sure that it connected to the hard drive so it works but only the master drive.

Anyone know how much it would cost and where i could replace and fix it?
Thanks to those who help

Kind regards,
Nikhzz

Sounds like you wrecked your IDE cable. Don't worry, they're cheap. You should be able to buy one at any electronics or computer store. Radio Shack will have one. Just make sure you get an 80-wire cable.

Remove the hard drive from your system and you should be able to pull off the old connector. Good luck!

    Nikhz.

The cheapest way, is to go to your local computer store and buy an 18" IDE 80 wire cable, like the one shown here and replace it yourself.
