Installing new CD software, can I delete Roxio
I am installing NTI CD-RW software and want to use it as the only CD burner and player. Can I install this over the Roxio software, or does Roxio contain "bits and parts" for the OS (which is Win XP Home)which may be needed for the other software. If not, then I should be able to safely delete it from the OS system, right?

PS: I should have also included this question. Should a 2nd CD device be connected to the mother board only via the CSEL and the 2ndary IDE connector as opposed to using a Primary/2ndary Master/Slave set up....again, thanks for your help on this one.

Geeish,that was quick, even before I got the PS entered! Thanks a great deal, your answer makes sense...so I will uninstall Roxio Direct CD. Is there a reason you kept the Roxio Direct CD rather than the one with Nero? Just curious :)

I have Roxio Easy CD Creator 6 Platinum installed as my primary burning software. I do part-time PC support so I have some other programs installed primarily for the support.

You can delete it or keep it as long as you uninstall Roxio Direct CD. Only one UDF formatting program can be installed as that will conflict. e.g. I have both Nero and Roxio installed but I didn't install the Nero InCd which is equivalent to Roxio's Direct CD.
