PLeas HELP ME

I have a dimension 4300 and my hard drive is to capacity and i need to buy a new one.  Can I buy a SATA hard drive?  The one i am looking at is a MAxtor 250GB SATA 133 hard drive.  Will this work in my computer.  I have a pentium 4 1.6 ghz processor.  i heard that the 133 need a special wire and stuff or something if i were to get this hard drive would i have to do anything else or would it work perfectly with what the computer has already?  Please help me i need this HD soon!!!

The D-4300 does not support SATA, only EIDE/IDE/ATA drives. If you want to install a SATA hard drive, then you will have install a PCI SATA controller card.

There would be no speed advanage to using SATA, instead of a EIDE drive in the D-4300.

That is EIDE. However, you'd be better off with a Seagate, WD, Samsung or Hitachi drive - not Maxtor.

Replying to your PM, the EIDE hard drive shown in the link should be fine, but, ejn63 said, pick a different make, Maxtor are having some reliability problems lately.
