USB 3.0 Driver problem

Plz Help. I have a Segate Backup plus with usb 3.0 cable.

But whenever I connect it to my usb 3.o port it displays a message, "this drive can perform best if connected to usb 3 port".

I checked the segate product with other pc it works. So there is a problem with my usb drivers.

I am using DELL XPS 15 L502x

os Windows 8 pro

    Hi Swagat R,

You may uninstall the ‘USB Root Hubs’ from ‘Device manager’. Please follow the steps below:

    • Press ‘Windows’ key + R on ‘Desktop’ screen
    • Type ‘devmgmt.msc’ in run box and press ‘Enter’
    • Expand ‘Universal Serial Bus controllers’
    • From the list, look for ‘USB Root Hub’
    • Right click and click ‘Uninstall’, click ‘Ok’
    • Uninstall all ‘USB Root Hub’ listed
    • Wait for all the drivers to get uninstalled
    • Restart the computer
    • Restarting the computer will install ‘USB Root Hub’s automatically on the computer

You may install latest chipset drivers from the link: http://dell.to/16Sjev5.

You may update the system BIOS from the link: http://dell.to/1cGzhRZ.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to reply for any further assistance.

    Hi Swagat R,

You may try to use any other USB 3.0 compliant device with the system.

Keep me posted with the results. I will be glad to assist you.
