Hi,
I'm gonna setting up a Group in ECC in order to group all my virtual machines that I need in my DR site (cause I don't need all of them).
After that, I'd like to know how much of datas they are so I can ask to my DR Provider a Lun as big as my needed (consider that this provider ask us money for each TB of data Lun).
Is there any way?

Once the objects are in a group StorageScope will allow you to create a report agains just those objects. There may be a way to get the details you are looking for by making properties selections in the ControlCenter console but I believe you would have better luck with a report that you can rerun if the situation change and that you can customize the information included. Please look over these options and let us know if this is what you are looking for.

ECC collects several bits of information that may meet your needs. For each VMFS file system attached to your ESX servers, you can get the usage information including total size and free/used space. In addition, ECC collect statistics about the virtual disk files (.vmdk files and snapshot files) for each VM on an ESX server and I believe it has the relationship between the virtual disk file and not only the parent VM but also the file system (VMFS or NFS) in which it is stored.
As Paul indicated, this is all available through StorageScope reporting including Query Builder.

I've tried to create a new query, choosing (in the step 2) the Virtual disks option but I cannot select anything about the group I've created.
However, finishing the wizard, I can run the query but It cannot found any datas.... Why? Consider that all of my ESX are fully discovered....
You need to select following two objects for your VM group because VMs are considered as Host
Hosts: Groups
Groups: All Groups
Once you select them, you will see capacities related to VM, for example, VMDK Capacity is the one you want.
Virtual disks you chose previously is for Virtual Storage like Invista or VPlex. It is not for VM disk file.
The "Group" query results me not many informations except for how components are in my groups....
the Host query probably is hard to use cause I've 270 vms in my enviroment, and I don't know how extract the right selection of vms.
My focus was to create a "BCP VM disk files group" in order to have a more easy way to select them (and also have the sum of those disks capacity)

I am sorry that it did not yield the results you were looking for. Let us give this one more try.
1) I suppose you have added all the DR VMs you are interested into a group using ECC Console.
2) In QB, create a query selecting the following objects. See attached screenshots.
Hosts : Hosts
Groups : All Objects in a Group
Groups : All Groups
3) In the columns available to select, click the essential columns such as the columns shown in response3.bmp
4) On the Crete Filters dialog, set the filter on "All Objects in a Group.Group Leaf" equal to 1 as shown in response4.bmp
5) On the Sort dialog, sort on "All Groups.Group Path" ascending as shown in response5.bmp
An alternative to the above steps is to make a copy of the built in query "Hosts in a Group" and add the VMDK and VMFS related columns you are looking for.
Hope this will give you what you are looking for.
