Developer question - SRDF source and target on same array
I am a developer with only one VMAX10K array at hand. I want to set up SRDF. Is it possible to do so as loopback with the same array? If so, how? Any pointers to documentation would be helpful. Thanks.
You could in previous generations of Symmetrix configure SRDF how you want to. I think when the DMX series was released EMC no longer supported it and you (to my knowledge) cannot configure SRDF from same array to same array. We used to do it for lab use and learning purposes; which is what I think you are looking for.
Cody, from what I read it looks like Static RDF requires a bin file change which can be done only by EMC Support. Is there a way to set this up from SYMCLI or from Unisphere? Also, can you please elaborate on the P2P connection - what it is and how to set it up?
Is it mandatory to have a static group on VMAX for creating new dynamic groups ?
We don't have SRDF as of now but i am checking the feasibility. So can you please advice "How can i check that if EMC created a static RDF group when new VMAX was configured or not ?"
