I have three, brand new R410 servers, loaded with W2K8 x64 os. The RAC Console option is not available in ITA (v 8.6.0) when I right-click on the object. OMSA recognizes that it does have a DRAC installed, but ITA does not.
Having this problem, again, on another R410 with W2K3 installed. It has an iDRAC6 Enterprise installed, but the option to use this connection type is not present from within ITA. Is this common for R410 servers? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for posting! Have you created discovery ranges that pick up the DRACs, and have the DRACs been configured with the correct SNMP community string and destination IP address?
No, I have not created any ranges for any of my drac's, nor do they have any snmp community strings set on them or destination IP's. Is this necessary for this model drac now?
I think we must be talking about two different things because I have never set up my dracs with snmp settings, only the servers. I give the dracs an ip address and plug them in to our network and viola, I can log on to them.
It's only from within ITA that the option to connect via the drac is not available. I can connect via remote desktop, I can open the Server Administrator, both from within the ITA console.
I'm going to try to attach a screen shot to show you what I am talking about. Is this example, you see the RAC Console option is available. On the servers I have problems with, that option is not present. Hope the attachment comes thru!
