I also have the same problem. GPS receiver in Venue 8 pro seams to be very poor and can not capture the signal. You need to test the tab on a sunny day outside a building so that you will have good signal strength. My one works outside buildings but takes longer time to get the signal. There is tool call sensor diagnostics tool to check the GPS signal.
