By "closure" I meant response to the user like you are talking about.
I saw where you had dobhar and kotaguy picking up threads, so I thought those two needed picking up as well.
If you are back to pick things up, this one also needs your attention - make changes to my answer as you see fit or reply in the original thread and link this one back to it whatever is best.
This exposes a really bad flaw in the system. You should not walk away from an open thread. You should either release the thread, give up ownership, or have someone else take over, transfer ownership. By forum rules no one else can work on the thread without your permission. Not responding for eight days is, in one word
irresponsible.
I'd like to take a moment to say, that I think you've done an excellent job ... :)

A person's quality of work isn't judged on a few instances of good or bad (this isn't a system's department led by those with less talent than title - no one in particular there), but overall when taking all the work that's been done, at a given site and during a period of time into account; in that, I think you done an excellent job. I didn't check both those logs closely, but just at at a glance, I didn't see any trojan or virus left open, so in that, good work also.
Incredible does describe alot of them, thanks for pointing that out for everyone ... :)

In all actually, only two parties can speak for that thread, the victim, and the responder / expert working it. When one of those two parties calls it quits, then it's quits (whether it's one day, or two weeks) - the responder cannot clean a system alone. Given that, wouldn't it also make sense that if by chance, a thread gets lost in the shuffle (which it sometimes does), that the victim can respond ("And what should I do next...") post back, bringing attention back to him/herself? I see it happening on HiJackThis boards across the net. That's just common sense, and when has common sense ever need to be in written format? Oh yeah, in a few of the larger shops i've worked in ... :D
I'm sorry you feel our support for a fellow worker (both a Dell and MWR member) is construed as a shout down. Does that now mean, that everytime we encourage someone helping here, that we are somehow indirectly attacking you? That totally confuses me, since there's nothing in ny post that relates to you that i'm aware of.
Steve is the only one that addressed you personally.
You people are incredible; first I never question his, Bertha2’s abilities, read my post. What I spoke of is an apparent flaw in the control system on this forum. Two individuals were left without support for over a week, check the logs Instead of saying something like, we may have a problem - lets see what can do about it, or has msgale pointed out a possible flaw, you just pile on and try to shout me down, it isn’t going to work. However, you never responded to the issue I raised, why?
Yes I can speak to you, your earlier post was a defense of Bertha2’s abilities, which I never challenged, rather a response to the question I raised in my first post. Answer my question; do not defend A-SAP members whose technical abilities are not being challenged.
Oh Michael you really think so?, I guess here we go again ... I know this is difficult for you to accept, but I don't answer to you, so why keep asking as though I do? ... :) - And my post was strictly to Bertha, and not to you, which i'm going to make time and time again, if I so choose, as will every other member of the Dell community forums - just as you do.
But I guess we need ChrisM in here to arbitrate this one, once again, huh? Ok Chris, where do we draw the line on this one? How do we arbitrate rules for posting from one user to the next when we're in the same thread? How do we determine if i've attacked msgale with my post to Bertha? Was it the timing? The context? What the heck is it now?
I'll in send another call for arbitration and the need for more specific posting rules across the board on this one.

These threads do not need closing I am afraid,
I agree that i have been late replying to them, but this is because I have been away from the forums for almost a week.
I would be grateful if htey remained open so I can pick up where I left them
Thanks
