Anti-spyware programs

Just a day ago I was on the internet and somehow managed to get "anti-spyware" (I doubt that is what they really are) programs that I did not download.  I don't even know what the stupid programs are, so I don't know where to start.
Now the programs have found their way to becoming icons on my toolbar I constantly have messages popping up about how I have spyware on my computer and that I have five active spyware modules on my computer.  The desktop kept reverting to some odd wall paper with a link, but I managed to get rid of it.  All of the links, pop ups, and balloon things are for a topadwarereviews or something, a site I have never visited, or even seen before.  I have Ad-Aware and McAfee, but after running them I still can't seem to get rid of the problem.  For all I know, it is not a problem, but all the same, it is really annoying.  I'm just worried that it may be a bigger problem then I know, so any help would be appreciated!

Go to here and download HiJackThis to its own folder that you create on your C:\ drive.
After it is downloaded open the program and click Scan and Save to log.

Post the log that it generates in the HiJackThis forum for analysis.

thats is common infection of either one of these parasites:
    spyware quake, spyfalcon, spyaxe, spywarestrike
take a look which one advertises in your computer and follow the link to get manual removal instructions.

I am having the same problem.  My pop up message from the tool bar says " click on antim alware spyware remover to get rid of your virus threat".  Google says there is no such software.  Have you learned how to get rid of this annoying pop-up.  It appears to come from Dell as it pops up , even now, and screams "Your computer is infected".

    zeroacid,
I don't think that average user should try to remove this themselves.
Spy Falcon is one in particular that involves several different processes including HJT to fix.

    What does your message mean?

Perhaps the best thing to do is to buy the software offered by microsoft called "spywarequake 2.0" that appears when I click the box that flashes " computer is infected ?

Do not click on any popup telling you to purchase "spywarequake 2.0". It is a rogue antispyware program that will cause you grief, and will be hard to remove. It is not a MicroSoft program.

Is Fred Sauberman the writer of this spyware programme then? {due to him saying click on the box!}  What idiot would recommend anyone do that.

i guess spywarequake creators make huge money. Unhappily some internet users doesn't know that spywarequake is spyware and raises the budget of malware makers.
