"DrWatson Postmortem Debugger" - Please Help!!!

Hi,
 
My dell computer E510 is having an error message "DrWatson Postmortem Debugger" and then the computer would freeze. I have to press/hold the power button to turn off the pc everytime that error message shows up.
 
I researched on-line and it seems my pc may have been hijacked. I followed some advice, installed and ran Adware Personal SE and Spybot Search & Destroy. I then installed HijackThis, and the following is the HiJackThis Scan Log file. I am not good at this myself, I have KillBox but do not know which one to select. Could anyone help and look at this for me? Your advice will be highly appreciated!

    Hi there

    I do not see anything too serious in your log apart fom a couple of entries, and a bit of updating to do. May I suggest that you either print out these instructions or save them as a text file with Notepad or your default text editor to your desktop as we will be restarting into Safe Mode later on in the fix

    Open HJT by double clicking on the icon and select the second button entitled "do a system scan only".
    Make sure you close any windows that are open or minumised

    Now select the followng entries by placing a tick in the left hand check box

    Once you have selected all entries then click once on the " fix checked" button to clear the entries from your log

    Update your Java.
    Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system.
    Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components.

    Open up control panel and remove any entries relaing to J2SE Runtime Environment

    Go here and download and install JRE 5.0 Update 7. Click the link that says Download JRE 5.0 Update 7. You will then need to select Accept License Agreement and click the Continue button that is beside it. Then click the link that says Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language. Save it to your Desktop. Then go back to your Desktop and double click jre-1_5_0_07-windows-i586-p.exe to start the install.

    Now we need to download an additional program for scanning your computer
    Please download Ewido Security Suite it is a free version of the program.

    Install ewido security suite
    When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck..
    Install background guard
    Install scan via context menu

    Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop, double-click it.
    The program will now open to the main screen.
    When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning " Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
    You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.

    On the left hand side of the main screen click Update.
    Then click on Start Update.

    The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed. The status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"
    Now Close Ewido for the time being, do not scan just yet

    Please re-start your computer in safe mode - You may want to print the rest of these instructions from here onwards
    To do so, reboot your computer and repeatedly tap the F8 whilst your computer is booting up (just before the MS Windows flag screen appears) until a menu appears. Once you see the menu select the option to start the computer in safe mode. (It might take more than go to access the menu if you have not done this before, just simply reboot the machine again and repeat the steps)

    Now click on the ewido icon on your desktop to start it (or locate the program from your start menu)

    Click on Scanner
    Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
    You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
    Select " Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
    Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
    Click Save report.
    Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

    Once done post the ewido log along with a new HJT log, Let me know how things are running now

    Thanks so much for your help! I am sorry for my late action - I was out of town for a few days and could not try your advice until today. I did everything you suggested - BTW, you are an excellent instructor! I scanned the system using ewido and did not find any spyware or virus.

    Without scanning further with other tools I do not see anything immediate in your log . But I do notice the list of running processes is short, can I just ask was this log done in safe mode. Also I notice that you are running KuGoo which is a P2P program, is this something you are still using?

    Thanks for your quick response! Yes, the HJT log I posted yesterday was from Safe Mode. I did use Kugro before, although I have not used it for quite a while. Do you think Kugro might have caused the problem?
     
    I did a scan using Adaware, Spybot Search and Destroy and ewido, from both safe mode and normal mode. No spyware or virus were found except a few tracking cookies identified by Adaware.
     
    The error message "DrWatson Postmortem Debugger" came up again just a few minutes ago. However, this time the computer only froze for a few seconds, then I was able to close up all programs and everything back to working now.
     
    I just ran a HJT from Normal mode, and the following is the HJT log. Could you give a look at it? I really appreciate your help and knowledge!

    Hi there, Thanks for the fresh log,

    There's nothing out of the ordinary in your log that would make me think that this is spyware related. Can you narrow the error down at all? Have you recently installed any new software or made any hardware changes. You could try narrowing down the programs that startup when you boot yoru computer using msconfig. (Go to start menu - select run - type in msconfig - select the startup tab) From here you can stop certain programs from running on boot, you can try taking these down to a minimum just leaving your main security programs to boot up then introduce the rest of the programs one by one and take note when the error occurs. Doctor Watson has also been known to be play up when users are infected with CWS but there is no evidence of this in your log, have you has this infection at all in the past?

    Thanks for the notice. I have been trying each programs as you told me. It is taking long because I am still making sure whether I really solved the problem. It happened a few times that everyting was fine for a couple of days, then suddently the same error showed up out of blue.
     
    I uninstalled quite a few programs who had triggered that DrWatson Postmortem Debugger error message before; the system has been working fine for about 3 days as of today. I think and hope this time we finally tackled this problem.
     
    No words can describe my appreciation to your help. Even this problem showes up again, I believe I have learned from you how to approach it. I will also be more carefull from now on.
