    download VirtumundoBeGone from:

    http://secured2k.home.comcast.net/tools/VirtumundoBeGone.exe

    * Save it to your Desktop
    * Close all running programs (including your Internet Browser)
    * Double-click VirtumundoBeGone.exe on the desktop
    * Follow the directions as indicated

please be advised that this program will generate a "BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH"... this is an expected/necessary part of the process, so don't be surprised when it happens.
just reboot if your system "jams"

    *********************

It's now time to report back to us: VirtumundoBeGone generated a "log" file of its own, which it should have placed on your Desktop... please REPLY to this thread, and copy/paste the VirtumundoBeGone log back here, along with your latest HJT log.

Yes by no means you are clean. At Dell Support we have experts handling certain malware. I mainly handle the WinFixer problem. I have informed another expert and they will be with you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Nice work. Looks like VirtumundoBeGone successfully deactivated the bad WinFixer file. Have you noticed any difference, in terms of WinFixer popups, warnings about trojan vundo/virtumundo, and/or overall system speed/performance? Please tell me. This will not fix everything on your computer(if needed) only WinFixer.

You are using an old version of JavaSun's Java is sometimes updated in order to eliminate the exploitation of perceived vulnerabilities in an existing version. For this reason, it's extremely important that you keep the program up to date, and also remove the older more vulnerable versions from your system.  The most current version of Sun Java is: Java Runtime Environment Version 5.0 Update 6
To check your version to see if it is the latest version, Please go to http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp to verify your version to get the updates needed:
You'll need to use IE and allow ActiveX for this update. Follow the instructions on that page to verify Your Java software.
Or you can get the manual download http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp here:
Once you have installed the latest update, please go to Add/Remove Programs and remove all older instances of Java listed there.

At this point, I'm gonna try to ask someone else to step-in, to determine additional problems (if any) that you might have. Please be advised that we're very "understaffed" at the moment, so I can't make any guarantee as to when the next helper will arrive.

Dell Support, I did a search on Google and I was still being redirected to Morwill Search, a pornographic website, and a Lycos Search site. Is there something more that I must do?

    Thanks,

    Kris

Dell Support, I compared my HiJackThis logfile to the logfiles of the other forum entries regarding the same Morwill Search problem. I deleted the entries that appeared in my logfile that looked similar in nature to the entries of the other logfiles that were to be deleted (listed below). I ran many searches and I have not come across the Morwill Search website, pornographic website, or the Lycos Search site. I believe the problem has been fixed :smileyhappy:

    Thanks for everything!

    Kris
