Is Mcafee enough?

I've just purchased a Studio 15 which came bundled with Mcafee.  I am wondering if that is enough protection against virus, spyware, malware etc.  Should I download something else?

    Hi pwonacott:

It depends on which version of McAfee came bundled (a full security suite vs. a standalone AntiVirus) and whether you chose a limited trial version (usually 30 days) or a purchased subscription good for longer periods.

The bare minimum security you need running in real-time is:
    - one (and only one!) antivirus
    - one (and only one!) software firewall
    - one anti-spyware

You will want to have all 3 up and running before connecting to the internet for any serious browsing. If you have only a limited trial, make sure you install more permanent alternatives before the trial expires.

There are optional free software programs you should seriously consider installing for added protection.  I have listed many of them in the link below. Make sure they are compatible with your operating system (which I imagine is Windows 7) before installing them.
