    Hi and welcome back,

To begin with go to here and do an online scan and delete whatever it finds. Be sure to highlight the drives you want to have searched.

When it completes, post back the full filename of any files that cannot be cleaned or deleted.

Open your Control panel and your Add/Remove folder.

Uninstall Virtual Bouncer and anything with:

'search' in the entry that you didn't install.
    'toolbar' in the entry

    Download LSPFix
and unzip to your desktop, then run it. Now, we need
    to:
    1. check(tick) " I know what i'm doing".
    2. click on (highlight) each occurance of the following, one at a time:

    dolsp.dll

    3. then click " >>",
moving each one, individually, to the 'Remove'
    pane.
    4. (double-check, and make sure that only the above files are in the 'Remove'pane.)
    5. click " Finish >>"

    Run HiJackThis then:

    1. Click "Config..."
    2. Click "Misc Tools"
    3. Click "Open Process manager"

Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate (if present) and click on (highlight) each of the following

    C:\Program Files\VBouncer\BundleOuter.EXE
    C:\WINDOWS\kosihvwx.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\ygivwg.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\wsxsvc\wsxsvc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\vmss\vmss.exe

Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click " Kill process". Now, click " Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain.

Open your HJT program and tick these entries if present:

    C:\WINDOWS\kosihvwx.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\ygivwg.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\wsxsvc\wsxsvc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\vmss\vmss.exe

Now with all programs closed except your HJT program hit the FIX button.

Delete the following files or folders:

    C:\WINDOWS\kosihvwx.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\ygivwg.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\wsxsvc\wsxsvc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\vmss\vmss.exe

    C:\WINDOWS\dcz.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\ffisearch.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\vmss\vmss.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\farmmext.exe

Reboot and post a new log.

After you have cleared your puter of the infections, go and read my previous post:

Then download Firefox (browser) and use it instead of IE.

    Hi,

One more pass to get rid of these O1 entries.O1 -

This time reboot and go into SAFE MODE, tapping the F8 button when the Dell logo apprears.

When in SAFE MODE open HJT and tick these entires:

    O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 auto.search.msn.com
    O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 search.netscape.com
    O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 ieautosearch

Now with all programs closed hit the FIX button.

Exit SAFE MODE and return to NORMAL MODE and post a new HJT log.

    Steve

p.s. you will have to use your IE6 for Windows updates and other Windows related functions.

    Steve,

Let me hop in here real quick and see if I can help you with those two infections...

    policecadetsearle,

Let's see if we can get those off your system; it'll take us a few steps to do it, so hang in there.

We'll need to unload (not uninstall) Intermute's SpySubtract, since it might interfere with other program(s) we might be using to 'clean' off your system.

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Download and unzip FindIt NT-2K-XP, then:

    1. Double-click " FintIt NT-2K-XP.zip" folder.
    2. Double-click " FindIt NT-2K-XP" folder.
    3. Double-click " FindNarrator.bat"

    4. Click " Extract All"
    5. Click " Next"
    6. Click " Next".
    7. Click " Finish"

( If you've already downloaded and unzipped it before, skip the above steps.)

    8. Double-click " FindIt NT-2K-XP" folder.
    9. Double-click " FindNarrator.bat".

( Wait until the scan completes.)

    10. When notepad comes up post back the contents of FindNarrator.txt.
    11. Close notepad.

Let's look for, and delete, any program segments( prefetches) that might be present, and are associated with the ' problems' we're trying to remove from this system. To do this, let's:

    1) Click " Start | Search", then search for each of these program's base name(s), in all files and folders:

    yiukhi.exe*

    2) Then if any are found in the ' prefetch' folder, delete them.

Look closely, since the ' base' name will have a bunch of random numbers and letters attached to it.

Go to Add/Remove programs and remove(uninstall) the following, if present:

    Desktop Search

The above could appear anywhere within the entry. Be careful not to remove any personal or system software.

    Run HiJackThis then:

    1. Click " Config..."
    2. Click " Misc Tools"
    3. Click " Open Process manager"

    -

Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate ( if present) and click on ( highlight) each of the following:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\yiukhi.exe

Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click " Kill process". Now, click " Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain.

Run HiJackThis and click " Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

    O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 auto.search.msn.com
    O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 search.netscape.com
    O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 ieautosearch

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Desktop Search] C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\desktop.exe

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: Reliability - C:\WINDOWS\system32\s8puli7918.dll

    O23 - Service: Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Helper ( 6QÔõ'ª´ÆÐ8) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mfceh.exe (file missing)

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click " Fix checked".

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

    folders...

    C:\WINDOWS\isrvs

    files...

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\yiukhi.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\s8puli7918.dll

    -

Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're ' in use', try deleting them from " Safe Mode".

Post back a new log, and let me know how everything goes.

    -

    Mike.
