I recently had a malware issue and successfully removed the virus and restored my system. Since then, however, I get a "RUNDLL" error when I log on to Windows. It reads: Error loading C:\PROGRA~\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\MWSBAR.DLL The specified module could not be found.
I've tried running Ad-Aware and Spybot and it's not fixing the issue. Below is the HijackThis logfile I created per Dell Forum's instructions. I'm sure there's something wrong with the registry, but I don't know how to go about fixing it. Please help!
Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 2:55:39 PM, on 8/3/2008 Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106) Boot mode: Normal
* If you are using any P2P (file sharing) programs, please remove them before we clean your computer. That includes torrents. The nature of such software and the high incidence of malware in files downloaded with them is counter productive to restoring your PC to a healthy state. If you have music files in those programs' folders that you want to save, please move those music files to another directory. A list of P2P's is here: http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=si_virus&thread.id=69430
* If this computer belongs to someone else, do you have authority to apply the fixes we will use?
* Have you already fixed entries using HijackThis? If so, please restore all the backups and then post another log.
* After we begin working, please print or copy all instructions to Notepad in order to assist you when carrying out procedures. Please follow all instructions in sequence. Do not, on your own, install/re-install any programs or run any fixes or scanners that you have not been instructed to use because this may cause conflicts with the tools that I am using.
* During the course of our cleanup please do not do any online work or surfing until we have verified that your system is clean.
* We may be using some specialized tools during our fix. Certain embedded files that are part of legitimate programs or specialized fix tools such as process.exe, restart.exe, SmiUpdate.exe, reboot.exe, ws2fix.exe, prcviewer.exe and nircmd.exe may at times be detected by some anti-virus/anti-malware scanners as a "RiskTool", "Hacking tool", "Potentially unwanted tool", or even "malware (virus/trojan)" when that is not the case. Such programs have legitimate uses in contexts where an authorized user or administrator has knowingly installed it. These detections do not necessarily mean the file is malware or a bad program. It means it has the potential for being misused by others. Anti-virus scanners cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert you or even automatically remove them.
* If your replies do not fit in one post while we are handling your issue, please reply to yourself until all text is submitted. It may take several posts.
* After one week if you have not replied to my most recent post, I will consider this forum thread INACTIVE. If you would like me to continue handling your issue after that time, please send me a Private Message with a request to do so.
Instructions posted for this user are customized for this user only. The tools used may cause damage if used on a computer with different infections. If you think you have similar problems, please post a HijackThis log at the top of this board to start a new forum topic.
*I have been attempting to download Service Pack 2 and keep getting "Access is Denied" errors which ties back to the registry. The automatic updates option had been disabled awhile back and upon turning it back on, I'm having issues with receiving them-see above.
*Never posted this issue to another forum.
*I'm not using any cracked software.
*I'm not using any P2P programs.
*This computer belongs to me.
*I only produced the log in HiJackThis and DID NOT run any fixes.
The malware is probably preventing you from updating. Actually that is good because it would not be a good idea to update to SP2 or 3 while you are infected, or you will have more problems than you do already.
Please disable your
Symantec Script Blocking from within your Norton so it does not interfere with anything during our fixes now or later. You can enable this whenever we have verified that your system is clean.
To disable Norton AntiVirus Script Blocking:
1. Start Norton AntiVirus.
If Norton AntiVirus is installed as part of Norton SystemWorks or Norton Internet Security, then start that program.
2. Click Options.
If you see a menu, click Norton AntiVirus.
3. In the left pane, click Script Blocking.
4. In the right pane, uncheck Enable Script Blocking (recommended).
5. Click OK.
Please download

Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. It is possible that you may be running Java code in your applications that absolutely require a specific version of the JRE to run.
Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.
"Delete the following highighted files: C:\WINDOWS\System32\wmploc.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\197_150_ni_3.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\bthci.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\msexcl40.exe
Deelte the following highlighted folder: C:\PROGRAM FILES\MYWEBSEARCH"
None of these files exist on my PC-After searching solely in the System32 folder, I searched the entire C drive.
Here's what I DO have:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wmploc.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllcache\wmploc.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\bthci.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msexcl40.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dllcache\msexcl40.dll
Is this a good thing or not? I've run the HJT logfile again so you can see what it looks like after the fix in the beginning of your reply.

Welcome. Thank you for using Dell Community Forums.
I am reviewing your log. It appears that you have several problems there.
You are way behind on your Windows Updates. AFTER we get all this cleaned up, please update your operating system!
Before we begin cleaning, you can help me by doing the following:
* Have you have posted this issue on another forum? If so, please provide a link to the topic.
* If you are using any cracked software, please remove it.
Definition of cracked software:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_cracking
* If you are using any P2P (file sharing) programs, please remove them before we clean your computer. That includes torrents.
The nature of such software and the high incidence of malware in files downloaded with them is counter productive to restoring your PC to a healthy state. If you have music files in those programs' folders that you want to save, please move those music files to another directory.
