trojan.domcom

I have scanned numerous times with 2005 Norton Antivirus and it continues to find the trojan.domcom virus but it cannot repair, quarantine, or delete the file.  I have even scanned my computer in safe mode and tried to delete it, but it still doesn't work.  Norton claims this virus is easy to remove.  It says "the compressed file" is located in my temporary internet files folder but I can't find it.  Even if I do a scan for the file, it's not found.  Please help.  Thanks.

    Hi qty98.

    1. Turn off System Restore via Control Panel; but remember to re-enable after virus is removed!
Reboot to safe mode as Admin.
    Next:
Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > click Delete Files button (delete all & offline content and temporary internet files). Remain in safe mode.
Go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com and run the online scan (run the beta if it's available).
Reboot PC normally and run Norton Scan (make sure to fetch all updates before scan).

Thanks for your help.  Although I wasn't able to connect to the internet while in safe mode, I followed all other steps.  It worked!  Thanks again.

    Hi Q.

Just for the heck of it, I'd still run the online tool housecall. It certainly can't hurt!

I did every step you said even if I wasn't in safe mode.  I did run the (beta) online housecall tool.  Thanks for checking back.
