Uninstalling Trend Micro PC-Cillin Security 14

I am having the hardest time trying to remove this God awful program from my laptop. I am also unable to find out how to uninstall this on the Trend site though they have answers for everything else. Does anyone have a clue on what direction i should take here. I have been spending 2 hours on this and no luck. I cant remove it from the add/remove as it more or less just locks up. In other words i am about to throw this pc out the window :)

I have no virus or anything on this other laptop. It was a Christmas present for my mom and we have had nothing but trouble with trend. Every 10 miniutes or so a popup keeps coming up and tells us that we have to restart the computer for the updates to take effect. It also comes on at startup and i cant find anyway to stop it from doing that. Based on the other complaints i have read about it in here i think it would be in Dells best interest to stop using this product. I know i wont buy anymore pc's if this particular product is going to be installed in it.

Have you already tried Trend Micro's instructions from here (thinking specifically of using the PCCtools.exe)?

If somehow the .msi (installer) file got corrupted, you may have to download/install the whole thing again to get a working uninstaller:

PS - I'm not a malware expert, and I'm assuming all is well otherwise and you have/will have other anti-virus/spyware/firewall protection; if you suspect an actual infection post back for more expert help.

Glad I could help - though the whole trick was figuring that I had to click the Dell logo on the Trend Micro main support page to get to the right info :) .

Works fine for me - but I've got XP :smileyindifferent:

If you have no luck on your own, consider taking it up directly with Trend Micro (contact links at the bottom of the page) - if you've paid for it, might as well try to get it working:

Just a guess,  but it sounds like something is interfering with its ability to update properly, and they're best equipped to diagnose it.
