1.When i have to use FAST VP and FAST DP. give me the real scenario for this:
FAST moves application data at the volume (LUN) level. Entire devices are promoted or demoted between tiers based on overall device performance.
FAST VP adds finer granularities of performance measurement and data movement. The data from a single Thin Device under FAST control can be spread across multiple tiers. Based on performance data gathered at the extent level, the FAST controller is free to re-locate individual sub-extents of a Thin Device.
Real scenario is any application for dynamic performance improvements
2.When i have to use SRDF S and SRDF AS. please give me the real scenario for using this
SRDF/S provides real-time mirroring of data between the source Symmetrixand the target Symmetrix systems SRDF/A is remote mirroring solution that has no impact on production applications over extended distance because I/O requests from the host are acknowledged locally.
Real scenario is typical DR solution
3.When i have to use Timefinder Clone. please give me the real scenario for using this.
TimeFinder/Clone is a local replication solution available on the Symmetrixarrays that allows users to create point-in-time copies of the source devices, on to target devices.
Real scenario is any time of copy data requirements like backup/restore, decision support, dev/test environments
4.what is timefinder snap and VP snap . please give me the real scenario for using this.
TF/SNAP is space-saving operational for time point of local replication. VP is Thin Device operational of TF.
Real scenario is based on you storage implementation. If you use Thin Pool then use TF/VP SNAP.
