We are going to install a new VNX5500 (A) and also another VNX5500 on a distant site (B) .
We are planning to use replicator for moving data from the Celerra to the VNX on site A and then move the Celerra to site B and replicate to VNX on that site.
After that we should have data on both sites and we want to start replication between site A and B VNX.
If we do it that way will initial replication be short since data is on both sites or it will overwrite the whole site B File System ?
The only thing I show in documentation talks about recovering from Tape.
You want to look at a VNX Replicator feature called "Incremental Attach". There are several form posts from Rainer here that describe the usage. Essentially, you will create user checkpoints of the filesystems you currently have replicating, the utilize these checkpoints to restart replication without a full re-sync.
